เยี่ยม! กรุงเทพฯ คว้าเมืองน่าท่องเที่ยวที่สุดในโลก เรียบเรียงข้อมูลโดยกระปุกดอทคอม
ทำการจัดลำดับเกี่ยวกับการท่องเที่ยวเป็นประจำทุกปี สำหรับ "เทรเวล แอนด์ เลชเชอร์" (Travel & Leisure) นิตยสารด้านการท่องเที่ยวชื่อดังของประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งผลการออกแบบสอบถามผู้อ่านในปีนี้ (พ.ศ.2553) ปรากฎว่า กรุงเทพมหานคร สามารถคว้ารางวัลเมืองท่องเที่ยวที่ดีที่สุดของโลก หรือ World’s Best Award ประจำปี 2010 มาครองได้สำเร็จ ตามมาด้วย จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ของประเทศไทย และเมืองฟลอเรนซ์ ประเทศอิตาลี ตามลำดับ
โดยรางวัลเมืองท่องเที่ยวที่ดีที่สุดของโลก ทำการพิจารณาจากสถานที่ ทัศนียภาพ ความสวยงาม ร่มรื่น ศิลปวัฒนธรรม ประเพณี อาหารการกิน แหล่งช้อปปิ้ง ความเป็นมิตรของผู้คน และความคุ้มค่าของเงิน ส่วนรางวัลเมืองท่องเที่ยวที่ดีที่สุดของเอเชียเรียงตามลำดับคือ กรุงเทพมหานคร เชียงใหม่ และกรุงเกียวโต ประเทศญี่ปุ่น
ขณะที่ ม.ร.ว.สุขุมพันธุ์ บริพัตร ผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร เปิดเผยว่า รู้สึกดีใจที่ได้รางวัลนี้ และจะเดินทางไปรับรางวัลด้วยตัวเองในวันที่ 21 กรกฎาคม ณ เมืองนิวยอร์ก ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ส่วนเหตุผลที่กรุงเทพฯ ยังได้รางวัลเมืองน่าเที่ยวที่สุดในโลกและเอเชีย ทั้ง ๆ ที่เพิ่งผ่านการชุมนุมทางการเมืองมานั้น เรียกว่าถือเป็นความโชคดีที่นิตยสารเทรเวล แอนด์ เลชเชอร์ ปิดโหวตไปเมื่อเดือนมีนาคม ที่ผ่านมา ซึ่งเพิ่งเริ่มต้นมีการชุมนุม
อย่างไรก็ตาม กรุงเทพมหานคร เคยได้รับรางวัลเมืองน่าท่องเที่ยวที่ดีที่สุดในโลกจากนิตยสารเทรเวล แอนด์ เลชเชอร์ มาแล้วเมื่อปี 2008 แต่ในปี 2009 กรุงเทพมหานคร ตกมาอยู่อันดับที่ 3 ส่วนเมืองน่าเที่ยวแห่งเอเชียนั้น กรุงเทพมหานคร อยู่อันดับที่ 2 และเชียงใหม่อยู่ดับดับที่ 3
